Sickness

I've been ill all weekend, but I haven't told Cece so as not to worry her.
I've been hot and cold. So cold I put on a sweatshirt and sat inside my car outside. It was like 110 inside there and I was shivering. And NO I'm not going to a doctor. The next time I see a doctor I want it to be for my autopsy (which may be sooner rather than later at this rate)

Concerning my recent projectile vomiting spree, I wish I had this list before I got sick.

Things not to eat when you are sick:
99c nuggets from wendy's
Movie hotdog
string cheese
pizza
A&W Rootbeer

Things ok to eat:
Grapes
Crackers
Orange Gatorade

I'm not saying the 2nd list didn't make me throw up, they were just less disgusting the 2nd time around.

Harry Potter Rant ***SPOILER***

The asterisks should have warned you that this contains info about the 6th HP book. Read no further if you haven't finished the book. This info is for people who have finished it as well or parents who can't read a 700 page book but want to know what their kids do.

***** READ NO FURTHER ******

Ok so the Half-Blood Prince: I assumed the title meant Voldermort, or perhaps Harry but about halfway in I switched over to Snape. That was a good twist i think. JK was trying to make you believe it was Riddle.

The Death of Dumbledoor: Overly shadowed and assumed by audiences world wide... but still sad. Maybe I'm still coming of the death of a close relative but I was moved. Hopefully kids might think about death and be able to deal IRL better, but likely they'll not think about this happening to them unless they've already lost a grandfather.

Teen Romance: Now, I love a good snog but this got annoying. More of this shorter book was spent on teen angst that it was on Voldermort or Hogwarts lessons. It is not an entirely accurate portrayal either. Plus, absolutely no surprises! Everyone knows about the Harry-Ginny and Ron-Hermione pairings since like book 2! Predictable and I didn't even pass my Divination OWL.

Snape: Ok, am I the only one who still thinks he's not an active Death Eater? Harry always thought he was, but Dumby didn't. I think Snape is still a good person deep inside. I know, your thinking "But he killed Dumbledoor!" True enough, but what option did he have. There was no hope of help making it past the death-mark-barrier, there was already other death eaters and a werewolf in the room. The way I see it killing dumbledoor was the only way to keep from breaking his unbreakable vow to protect Malfoy. Maybe he and Dumbledoor discussed the possibility before, "If it comes down to me or the boy, kill me."

RAB: Anybody have any guessed about who this is? At least Harry has one ally out there... or two. RAB could be Regulus Something Black... Although I think he's assumed dead. Or if it is R and B it could be the Lestranges Rodulphus and Bellatrix. But I lean towards Serius' younger brother. He died trying to leave the death eaters and I think inherited an heirloom as mentioned when the kids are cleaning up the Black residence. Also the two Borgins and Burke guys who own the dark magic shop. They could have RA initials. I can't think of anyone else mentioned in the books with a possible RAB name. The locket said "I'll be long dead" and Regulus is dead.

Horcruxes: A strance theory... Harry is a Horcrux made so by Voldermort when he was a baby. Then Harry couldn't win unless he himself died too. I doubt this is true because JK is too predictable and this is too dark for her. Although maybe he could do it, the big sacrifice thing, then JK could retire and say, well he's dead. Some might call this a Phyrric victory but it's more like a messiah thing.

Well lets hear your thoughts.

Tremble with fear

Guess who's back back back
Back again-gain-gain.
Trey is back back back tell a friend friend friend.
Guess who's back, guess who's back, guess who's back
Da-da-da-da-tum datum datum datum

I've created a monster 'cause nobody wants to see Trey no more
they want Grandpa, I'm chopped liver.
If you want Granpa, this is what I'll give ya
A little bit of me mixed with some metamusil

Camp, that'll jump start your heart quicker than a shock
When Gary's in the hospital with a doctor when he's operating
And I'm at camp Goddard not cooperating
You waited this long now stop debating cuz I'm back
I'm the man and I'm matriculating*

You know I got a job, I'm brainy
but my lack of sleep is complicating
So the CofC won't let me be, or let me be so let me see
But they gave me a mic at Iron Springs
cause it feels so empty without me.

Now this looks like a job for me so everybody just follow me
cuz we got lock-in tonight which means less sleep
I'm so tired, I'm a zombie
Now this looks like a job for me so everybody just follow me
cuz we got a lock-in which means less sleep
I'm so tired, I'm a zombie

*Matriculate is to be added to the role of a college following an assessment of reading, math, etc.

Out of the Office

I'm going to RoadMAP, Camp Goddard and Camp Iron Springs back-to-back-to-back. I won't be in the office again until July 25th. Thus there is not much of a chance to blog. I have about 12 hours between each event to do laundry and sleep. Please pray that I don't loose my voice and that I have enough boxer shorts to get me through this.

A limerick

Time to get up in the morning,
Instead of in bed snoring.
I'm out on my bike
for 20 miles, psyche.
With my love handles I'm warring.

ISCC: Help wanted

Anyone know a good nurse? Of course at this stage a bad nurse would do. We need one now.

Also... this years scavenger hunt is Safari/Survivor Themed. We'll be playing survivor style games with the kids. But I need a few more good ideas. So I ask you faithful bloggers. Post as many survivor or fear factor style challanges. Only rules are no-swimming and no-eating. I know you all can post at least two challanges... get busy.

Weekend Update

Ok so its more like Weekly Update this time. But what cha gunna do?

Tuesday: Early phone call from Mom, "Happy Birthday, Granny Ruth is dead." (That comma should be a period.) Stacey and I drive to FW. I answer the phone and have to talk about what happened and accept condolences and promises of BBQ.

Wednesday: Mope about the house with the Fam. People bring food and I forget about my diet. I am on the phone more today. I've whittled the story down to about 2 minutes.

Thursday: I quit answering the phone because I'm depressed and I get a sunburn and go to the visitation/viewing thing. Old people who haven't spoken to Ruth for 40 years come out of the woodwork after reading her obit. Do old people really read the obits looking for old friends? I guess they do.

Friday:
10am - Funeral
11:30am - Lunch with fam at the church. I eat too much banana pudding.
1pm - Back home and its raining. I take a nap and sleep like the dead. (Pardon the expression.)
4pm - I call around and make a sack lunch for the concert.
6pm - Concert in the Park. Nice day.
8pm - Opening act, Sweet Lee is somewhat sour.
8:30 - Polyphonic spree starts. My friends don't want to dance... or even stand. Later I push to the front Lindsey.
10pm - Fireworks.
10:30 - The Shuttle is too crowded so 6 of us get in a 4 seater car with a friend and roll out.
11:30 - Back home, I finish the rest of the banana pudding.

Saturday:
I had made plans to go with my FW-friends to go to an improv comedy show, but I decide to leave without calling them. I prepare some carefully crafted words to apologize for bailing out, but... they don't call. You don't have to apologize for bailing out if your friends forget to call you. I'm not sure if they went without me or not, but I guess my absence wasn't felt. Then I get lonely in Garland. I call a friend here but she is visiting family in Fort Worth wouldn't you know.

Sunday:
Back to work. I feel out of place. I forget to bring my computer and other stuff to the church.
I picked up my mail today and got an odd mix of sympathy and birthday cards. Same with email but they skewed more birthday.
