September 11th

Ok, so today is September 11th. Given that I have been blogging politically recently today is a good day to follow up.

I pray that we don't see this type of attack again. In my opinion the only way to escape this fate is to be proactive. People don't want us to be the "Global Police" and I don't want us to be the "Justice League" but if we don't stand up who will.

I want to support our global fight against terrorism until the job is finished.

I had a hard time as a child with God's command to Joshua to utterly destroy the existing residents in the land of Canaan, even the women and children. It wasn't until I was an adult that I came to understand the pervasiveness of a belief system through a society: even the very young have already been "indoctrinated."
So am I putting America in the place of the Israelites in wiping out the godless elements of this world? But what about the grace because of Christ now? I have a real hard time deciding what I believe America's role should be in fighting terrorists. Sometimes I think, "Just blow them all away; they are a bunch of dangerous loonies." But other times I feel, "They are children of God. They just need to be taught that."

OK Trey, I just read your little blogger heading. I don't know why it's taken me this long to read it. I seriously laughed out loud, about swallowing the child and the knife. Man, where do you come up with this stuff! I'm glad I have funny friends.

m-a momma - I said something of the same sort to my mother. If we don't want to police these people total destruction is the only other alternative. I don't think it will come to that.

LNZ - I'm not sure if anyone really reads those header things on people's blogs. I'm glad you liked it, I actually change mine every now and then.

I just heard Colin Powell (very smart guy, by the way) describe himself as a reluctant warrior. I guess that is what I have become lately - 'reluctant'. I will confidently follow President Bush as we complete our plans, but I think the terror formulated from bin Laden so let's get him.
